Centre for Environment Protection, Research & Development (CEPRD), Indore MP is a NGO working at national level for betterment and protection of environment. It came into existence on 6h June 1996 as a result of voluntary efforts of the enlightened and environment loving citizens of Indore.
The rapid deterioration of the environment in Indore and neighboring Malwa region impelled a few enlightened and conscious citizens including industrialist, social workers, doctors, teachers and judges to get together and work selflessly, without government aides, towards the betterment, preservation, research & development of the environment of Indore (Malwa) region and around.
Thus it is a body of think alike socially awakened people working like crusaders for a noble cause of environment protection and associated elements. Here modern technology and knowhow is used to achieve the goal with committed public participation. Assistance is also sought from specialists and experienced personnel of the field to carry out the investigative and related works. The organization has worked all these years on the principle of “Think Globally and Act Locally”.
While bearing the concern for environment we also carry out research work under which survey, studies and documentation is done to evaluate and invoke final verification of facts analyzing the details. To pursue the study on climate change research work was also carried out by our organization for water conservation along with the prestigious Rockefeller Foundation, New York, USA. Since the year 2000 a monthly magazine “Paryawaran Vikas” (Environmental Development) in Hindi is being published regularly containing articles devoted to environment protection and development. A book named “Paryawaran Bodh” (Environmental Awareness) in Hindi was also published by the organization for the aspirants pursuing their studies in this field based at university level curriculum.
To ensure the achievement of its manifold objectives the CEPRD has following ten working groups active at grass root level with experts, specialists and social activists as core members of the groups. Senior technical, scientific and professional experts of different fields are also associated in advisory capacity.
